Hello!

Wow. This interface feels so..... nostalgic. It almost feels like I'm being transported back to the late 2000s, with the young nerdy Mel sitting behind the laptop and typing her personal emotions furiously away. Taking hours to choose a new template, meticulously switching up the codes and feeling like an adult when they worked well.

Ah, it feels so good to be back.

Decided to head back to a familiar space, now for an entirely different reason.

10 years have flown by, and I have been in the workforce for slightly over 2 years. Like.....what? I still feel so much like a small kid. A small kid dressed in adult clothes, facing the adult world with a (slightly trembling) wide smile. Damn, I still feel like a young kid in so many aspects of my life.

Therefore, this blog is dedicated to the ever-growing me, a space for my millennial-ish musings, somewhat an online journal to jot down my scattered thoughts and views on matters which I encounter while adulting.

Adulting doesn't rock that much. But it's not that bad sometimes too.

Alright, it's 11:04 right now. Time to do a quick wash up and prep for Monday tomorrow. Ah, that dreaded Monday. Yikes!

When I was little, I didn’t think of money much. All I knew was there was always food on the table, I would get my weekly pocket money, I would get chunks of money during Chinese New Year which would be stashed away in my POSB account. Being Alone.

This afternoon, I had to attend some training and after the longest time, I had to settle lunch outside alone. Even though I am a true blue introvert, there is just something about solo meals under the glaring eyes of the public that still slightly intimidates me. I mean, over the past few years, I have definitely grown to be more comfortable with hanging out with just myself. You know those quotes saying ‘Learn how to enjoy spending time with yourself, and you’ll never truly feel alone’? I remember treating that as my mantra for a period of time while I was still schooling haha. It’s the truth, right? It’s just like the saying ‘You must learn to love yourself before knowing how to love someone else.’ And all that jazz. You get my drift. 30 lessons I've learnt at 30

I turn 30 this month. If you were to ask 20-year old me, I would've dreaded this day. There's a lot of stigma when it comes to turning old, especially if you're a female. However, as I grow older, I slowly find myself being okay with it. Maybe turning old isn’t as scary as it seems. There are so many things I’ve learnt over the years and I’ve seen articles detailing lessons that were recounted which have given me insight to the writer’s learnings and perspectives.
